He Shall Rebuild the Temple

19. Not by Might, Nor by Power, but by My Spirit

Dan 2:31-49, Zech 4:1-14

Daniel described the power of Satan as a “little horn.” Dan 8:9 He said Satan would be great but not by his own power. He deceived the Romans to use their power against Christ and His disciples, and he deceived the bishop of Rome to exalt himself above Christ.

Daniel said he would be “broken without human means.”Dan 8:25

In Daniel 2, a stone was “cut out from the rock without human hands.”Dan 2:34 This stone smashed the image seen by Nebuchadnezzar and grew into a great mountain that filled the whole earth.Dan 2:35 From Isaiah, we know that stone was Christ, and the great mountain was the mountain of the Lord’s House in the last days.Isa 2:2

Zechariah said the saints would rebuild God’s temple, “not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit.”Zech 4:6

20. Silence in Heaven for About a Half an Hour

Rev 6:9-11, Rev 8:1-7

Seven seals reveal God’s wrath on the lawless. The first four seals were four horses that brought terror to a fourth of the earth:Rev 6:8 Europe, which was the extent of Christianity until the Reformation.

In the fifth seal, the martyrs who were killed by the beast cried out in heaven for God to send His wrath.Rev 6:10 They were told to rest until the fullness of their brethren were killed. Their deaths ended with the Peace of Westphalia in 1648.

John said, “There was silence in heaven for about a half an hour,”Rev 8:1 or 267 years. Then, “Fire was poured out from the altar,” and there was “an earthquake.”Rev 8:5 In 1917, the holy spirit was poured out in China,1 which began “the hour of God’s judgment”Rev 14:7 and China joined World War One.

21. The Temple Faced East

Isa 49:12, Ezek 43:2, Zech 6:12, Rev 8:4-5

In the beginning of the twentieth century, many in the West were praying for the holy spirit, hoping to rebuild God’s temple.

But Ezekiel said the glory of God would come from the East.Ezek 43:2 In Jesus’ day, Zech 6:12 read, “Behold, the man whose name is the East! He shall build the temple of the LORD.” Isaiah said that those whom Peter called “afar off” in Acts 2:39 were from “Sinim,” or China.Isa 49:12

In Revelation 8, we read, “The prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel’s hand … Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar and threw it to the earth.”Rev 8:4-5 That angel was Christ, and the fire was the same holy spirit that He poured out on the day of Pentecost.Acts 2:33

22. The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony was Opened

Ezek 43:8, Acts 7:44, Rev 15:5

God said, “Their doorpost was beside My doorpost, and there was a wall between Me and them.”Ezek 43:8

Before the glory of God could enter the temple, it had to be built with God’s instructions. In Acts 7, Stephen said, “Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses directed him to make it according to the pattern which he had seen.”Acts 7:44

John said, “The temple of the tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened.”Rev 15:5

The Church of the East rejected the image of the beast and obeyed five doctrines:

• the rest of the Sabbath day;
• baptism in the name of Jesus, in like manner;
• the washing of feet after baptism;
• holy communion;
• and receiving the holy spirit, as evidenced by the tongue emitting sound.
