Rev 22:16

16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David; the Bright and Morning Star.”

I, Jesus, have sent My Angel – in verse 6, we were clearly told that God sent His Angel. Here, Christ, speaking for God, calls Himself Jesus, in the most direct fashion of the Bible, demonstrating the fulfillment of Zech 14:9: “In that Day it shall be the LORD one and His name one.” In the Old Testament, the invisible God and the Spirit of Christ shared the name of Yihvah, and in the LORD’s Day, the one name is Jesus.

I am the root and descendant of David – the Spirit of Christ joyfully announces He was the first of Israel to inherit salvation.

I am the bright and morning star – the Spirit of Christ exclaims His final victory over the Spirit of the Antichrist, who was the Morning star, and the Ruler of this World (Isa 14:12), defeated by Christ on the cross, and now finally defeated once and for all. For Satan has been cast into the lake of fire.
