Tertullian (155-220) represents the false prophet (2 Thess 2:9, Rev 13:11-12). He was the chief spokesman for the Montanists who claimed to have various spiritual gifts. He said that baptism in living water had no significance, he proposed the Trinity doctrine, and he called the Sabbath, a temporary commandment.
