Ezek 43:1-11

LET THEM MEASURE THE PATTERN
“in their setting of their threshold by My threshold, and their door-post beside My door-post, there was the wall between Me and them”
Ezek 43:8

God’s glory enters the Temple when it has been built according to His instructions. This first occurred in Exodus Chapters 39 and 40. Here in this passage, Ezekiel describes the end time Sanctified Church, which becomes inhabited by the spirit of God, when it is built according to God’s instructions.

This is only one of several passages that tell us the Sanctified Church will be reestablished in the East. Isaiah said that saints from afar would come from the North, West, and the land of Sinim, (Isa 49:12), which most interpreters equate to Sina (China). Until the 14th Century, Christianity was confined to all areas north and west of Jerusalem. Very interestingly, in the Book of Acts, the spirit of God prevented the Apostles from preaching in Asia, and directed them towards Europe. However, in the last days, the spirit of God was poured out in the Eastern regions, as we read in Ezekiel Chapters 43 and 47. From 200 BC, until at least the 4th Century AD, Zech 6:12 was translated as “a man whose name is the East,” “BEHOLD A MAN, THE ORIENT IS HIS NAME.” Zechariah was describing the end time reestablishment of the Church of God, “He shall build the temple of the LORD.” Rev 7:2 also describes the end time Sanctified Church as an “angel ascending from the East.”

The saints must learn to follow “the pattern” – “let them measure the pattern” – “its entire design and all its ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight so that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinance and follow them” (Ezek 43:10-11). This of course refers to the doctrines of Christ and the Apostles that must be followed in order for the Glory of God to come in. The spirit of God is the spirit of truth. Receiving the spirit of truth is conditional on following the teachings and example of Christ in Church doctrine and worship.

God rebukes the saints for setting “their threshold by My threshold, and their door-post beside My door-post.” In other words, they did not build the Church according to God’s instructions, and for this reason “there was a wall between Me and them” (Ezek 43:8).
1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looks toward the east. 2 Behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shined with his glory.
Ezek 43:2
His voice was like the sound of many waters – this is the sound of the sanctified Church, as we read in Rev 19:6.

the earth shone with His glory – through the Church.
3 It was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face. 4 The glory of Yihvah came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. 5 The Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of Yihvah filled the house.
Ezek 43:3
like the vision I by the River Chabar – the vision of the four living creatures, who are the saints.

Ezek 43:4
by way of the gate that faces east – in Ezek 44:1, we read that the gate must now be shut, symbolically that God’s glory enters; and will never depart. Jesus said, “He will abide with you forever” (John 14:16). But this carries another meaning, the end time Sanctified Church will endure until the Lord returns.
6 I heard one speaking to me out of the house; and a man stood by me. 7 He said to me, Son of man, [this is] the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever. The house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution, and by the dead bodies of their kings [in] their high places;
Ezek 43:7
no more shall the house of Israel defile My name – the purity of the faith they will maintain is emphasized in Revelation 14:1-5. This is the work of the spirit of God, that was poured out, as mentioned in Ezekiel Chapter 37; the cleansing fire for the kingdom of heaven as described in Ezekiel Chapter 39, and Daniel Chapter 7.

nor their kings, by their harlotry – this passage is written to the spiritual Israelites of the New Covenant. The prostitution of the spiritual Israel is the prostitution of the Great Harlot in Revelation Chapter 17, mystery Babylon. The kings are described in Revelation Chapters 17-19.
8 in their setting of their threshold by my threshold, and their door-post beside my door-post, and there was [but] the wall between me and them; and they have defiled my holy name by their abominations which they have committed: therefore I have consumed them in my anger. 9 Now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me; and I will dwell in the midst of them forever.
Ezek 43:8
their threshold by My threshold and their door-post beside My door-post – in other words, the saints had “almost” constructed the temple that God wanted, but not exactly. They chose a slightly difference location for the door post, and the threshold.

Ezek 43:9
and there was a wall between Me and them – the saints were separated from God because they did not build the Church according to God’s instructions.

now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings – to end the prostitution of the Great Harlot. The dead bodies of the kings are described in Rev 19:18, “that you may eat the flesh of Kings.”The flesh of those kings who replaced the King of Kings, false kings of the Church.
10 You, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern. 11 If they be ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house, and the fashion of it, and the exits of it, and the entrances of it, and all the forms of it, and all the ordinances of it, and all the forms of it, and all the laws of it; and write it in their sight; that they may keep the whole form of it, and all the ordinances of it, and do them.
Ezek 43:10
let them measure the pattern – the saints tried to understand the significance of what had happened after God’s glory came in, and they measured the pattern of the truth, that caused God’s glory to enter.

Ezek 43:11
write it down in their sight so that they may keep its whole design – they will obey the true Gospel without any deviation.

The importance of following God’s instructions in building the tabernacle was dramatically illustrated for us in Exodus Chapters 39 and 40. After the completed the temple according to all of God’s instructions, the Glory of the LORD filled the tent.

EXODUS 39
1 Of the blue, purple, and scarlet, they made finely worked garments, for ministering in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as Yihvah commanded Moses.
5 The skillfully woven band that was on it, with which to fasten it on, was of the same piece, like its work; of gold, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen; as Yihvah commanded Moses.
7 He put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of memorial for the children of Israel, as Yihvah commanded Moses.
21 They bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not come loose from the ephod, as Yihvah commanded Moses.
26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, around the skirts of the robe, to minister in, as Yihvah commanded Moses.
29 and the sash of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, the work of the embroiderer, as Yihvah commanded Moses.
31 They tied to it a lace of blue, to fasten it on the turban above, as Yihvah commanded Moses.
32 Thus all the work of the tent of the tent of meeting was finished. The children of Israel did according to all that Yihvah commanded Moses; so they did.

EXODUS 40
32 When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they came near to the altar, they washed, as Yihvah commanded Moses. 33 He raised up the court around the tent and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work. 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yihvah filled the tent. 35 Moses wasn’t able to enter into the tent of meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and Yihvah’s glory filled the tent.
