ohn Wycliffe (1328-1384) helped to translate the bible into English. He said the bible was the only authority and the Pope’s claim of authority was unhistorical, and the poor morals of the priests invalidated their sacraments. His preaching greatly influenced Jan Huss. After John Wycliffe died, the Pope had his body burned.
