22 Except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the elect’s sake, those days will be shortened.
no flesh would be saved – by the true Gospel. Of course, many, many, people died through the Inquisition and the Reformation. But more significantly, until the truth is restored, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ cannot not bring salvation to the elect. For the sake of the elect, the days were cut short.
