| MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB |

| Here, we meet the Sanctified Church of the end days, that will tread “the winepress of the fierce wrath of God.” |
| 1 After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God: |
| Rev 19:1 a great multitude in heaven – you may wonder why we first see the Sanctified Church in heaven, and then go backwards to see the work of the Sanctified Church on earth in verses 11-18? This was also the style of Chapter 14, which began with the final sanctified elect of Israel, 144,000, and then detailed the process to get there. Chapter 14 and 19 are parallel Chapters that describe the removal of the lawlessness from the kingdom of heaven in the last days. And of course, the Book of Revelation begins with end, the Lord’s Day. But, the meaning of “in heaven” can describe the true saints on earth, “who dwell in heaven” as in Rev 13:16, “for you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Col 3:3). Hallelujah! – if there is any mark of the Sanctified Church of the last days, it is the repeated use of the phrase “Hallelujah!” Salvation and glory belongs to our God – it is the Sanctified Church that brings the true gospel in Rev 14:6. The Angel “flying in the midst of heaven” in Rev 14:6 is the Spirit of Christ, as the body of Christ; the Rider on the White horse, who meet in verse 11. |
| 2 for true and righteous are his judgments. For he has judged the great prostitute, her who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.” |
| Rev 19:2 He has judged the great harlot – see also “fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great” in Rev 14:8. The work of the end day Sanctified Church is to proclaim this message. He has avenged the blood of His bond-servants – the end time Church avenges the blood of the saints, see also Rev 16:4-5. |
| 3 A second time they said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke goes up forever and ever.” |
| Rev 19:3 her smoke rises up forever – again the words of Rev 14:11. The preaching of the end time Sanctified Church brings the judgment of Babylon. |
| 4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying, “Amen! Hallelujah!” |
| Rev 19:4 the twenty four elders – as mentioned in Rev 4:4, perhaps 12 from the Apostolic Church, and 12 from the end day Sanctified Church. The number twelve relates to the twelve tribes of Israel, and twelve Apostles. four living creatures – all the saints, from all times. |
| 5 A voice came forth from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, the small and the great!” |
| Rev 19:5 A voice came from the throne – see also Rev 21:3, the Spirit of Christ as the Word, speaking from the throne. give praise to our God…all who fear Him – this is the message of Rev 14:7 “fear God and give Him glory.” |
| 6 I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns! |
| Rev 19:6 like the sound of many waters – this phrase identifies the end time Sanctified Church mentioned in Ezek 43:2, “the Glory of the God of Israel” – “its voice was as the sound of many waters” – “the glory which came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the east” (Ezek 43:4; Ezek 47:1) which goes “toward the eastern region..” (Ezek 47:8). This is the holy spirit first poured out in China, in 1917. the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying “Hallelujah…” – the mystery of speaking of the seven peals of thunder from Rev 10:4, is in the phrase “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns.” As mentioned, the signature expression of this Church which began in China is the phrase “Hallelujah! |
| 7 Let us rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and let us give the glory to him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready.” |
| Rev 19:7 give glory to Him – to God. the marriage of the Lamb has come – the Bride of Christ is about to become His wife, see Rev 21:9. |
| 8 It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” He said to me, “These are true words of God.” |
| Rev 19:8 the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints – their righteousness is removing the lawlessness from the kingdom of heaven as described in Rev 14. The fine linen also brings us back to Jesus’ description of the wedding garment in Matt 22:12. The hatred of lawlessness is the character of Christ, see Psa 45:7. |
| 10 I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, “Look! Don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.” |
| Rev 19:10 then I fell at His feet to worship Him – the Spirit of Christ spoke from the throne, in verse 5. Christ is “the image of the invisible God,” and His speaker, the Word. In Rev 22:8, John also fell at the feet of the Angel. I am of your brethren – Christ tells John that He is his brother (Rom 8:29). worship God – John is after the Lord’s Day, when we will only worship God. Christ will no longer be our Lord, for He will submit Himself to God, “that God may be all in all” (1 Cor 15:28). who hold the testimony of Jesus – Christ was the firstborn of those “who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus.” the spirit of prophecy – the expression “spirit of prophecy” describes “the spirit of God” first received by Christ and then poured out on the Day of Pentecost. The testimony of Jesus is the holy spirit, as we read in John 15:26: “He will testify about Me.” In Rev 12:17, the saints overcame with “the word of their testimony.” But now, the spirit of God testifies to who the saints are. The expression “spirit of prophecy” was used to describe the spirit of God on Christ in the Targum. Of course, the holy spirit, is the sanctifying spirit of the Body of Christ in the last days, the Sanctified Church. |
